This class is really great.  I feel like I am learning at 100 miles per hour. The class changed my perception by showing me how to work from the emotion and connection to the character first, instead of running to technique first.

In this class I managed to take every fear, each insecurity, every passion, hope, memory, touch, pain...every thing I lock away for shame of being exposed, and let them pour out before me uncensored and uncontrolled. It felt so great….
We spend our entire lives building walls for these safe little cells to trap ourselves in. It is safe in there, but we end up missing the true beauty and gifts of the surrounding world.  Our actions and emotions are filtered and funneled through a small window, a hole we left open in our cell, small enough to not let too much in or out but just large enough to manage everyday life.  It is a WAR to break down the walls, a raging battle within ourselves that as actors we must handle. We must force these walls down and let ourselves out, to be free to run and splash in the infinite waters of emotion that life has given us.  There is beauty there, and there is strength.  Artists live through their work. It is the hardest work for it is the understanding of the human soul. We must be stable, and strong, but willing to stand before a group of people, emotionally open, to have that locked childhood diary thrown up over the stage. I feel as though these classes opened up great things in me. I understand so much more about this Infinite thing called "acting." I feel I have grown so much already and know I still have worlds to learn.

Kelly Musson, student

"I really felt that I got a lot out of class.  What we learned about painting the character on yourself instead of outside of yourself really hit home.  I also appreciated the idea of finding the character in yourself before approaching the 'form' or 'style' of a character. Before class I kept getting caught up in the words which didn't feel natural coming out of my mouth.  But, when we worked on Uncle Vanya, after I got some help to ground myself so definitely in the circumstances, I felt that the words did feel natural coming out of my mouth.  I wasn't working against them, I was using them. "
